Google AdSense Earnings - 5-18-11

Today I give you a wonderful example of how Google's AdSense clicks don't equate to earnings.
  • 1 click on my YouTube video generated $0.79 - That's great actually, I can deal with that all day, every day of the week.
  • 14 clicks (2%+ CTR overall) and only $0.03 in earnings. 3 effing cents in earnings, are you kidding me? 14 clicks is worth less than a nickel?
Paying people based on a CPM model is all fine & dandy... really, I like getting paid for Impressions on my pages. But to not pay when actual clicks are occurring is ridiculous and dare I say mis-leading (cough "fraudulent" cough).

Google AdSense Earnings - 5-14-11

Another oddity here... 16 actual AdSense clicks on my content (blogs) and only $0.04 of earnings.

I can understand a CPM paying out for just the page views & accumulating to $0.04, but for 16 actual clicks this is ridiculous.

Google AdSense Earnings - 5-12-11

Don't you love you how you can make money on a YouTube video even when no one clicks (Hosted AdSense), but when you actually get a click on a 468x60 banner there are no earnings? Puzzling...

And if you're wondering, I have custom channels setup on each of my sites so I know the location & site of the 468x60 banner that was clicked.

Google AdSense Earnings - 5/10/11

Summary & analysis of Google's crappy AdSense math:
  • 1 click from Youtube ad = $0.74
  • 8 clicks from (websites) = $0.01
How the fu*k is this possible? Each click should be at least worth $0.01, right?

This is a snapshot at mid-day so there may be additional earnings that come in later.
